Your New Roof, Start To Finish
Putting off replacing your roof is quite literally waiting for a disaster to happen. We begin with a full inspection and check for these 7 signs that it is time for a new roof, then talk to your insurance company to see if the damage is covered. Depending on the age of your roof, existing material, ventilation and damage to the underlying plywood, we’ll print a proposal for a re-roof or full roof replacement straight from the truck.

Tear-Off
Out with the old, in with the new. We make tear-off as painless as possible for both you and your home. Landscaping, patio furniture, air conditioning units and that 4-burner stainless steel Weber grill all get covered and protected.
Roof Decking
Plywood spans the home’s rafters to give a roof its structural integrity and handles the weight of our Chicago snow. Wet or rotted out decking creates ‘soft spots’ on the roof and are usually the first areas to cause a roof leak. Most roofs we work on need several sheets of plywood (never OSB), which is one of the main reasons we strongly recommend full roof replacements over re-roofs

Ice & Water Shield
Ice & Water Shield goes on two key areas of your roof: Eves and Valleys.These areas are particularly susceptible to ice dams and require this extra layer of protection. To extend the life of your roof and bring it up to Lang standards, we also install Ice & Water Shield in other areas that we’ve seen fail, like skylights, chimneys, vents, satellite dishes and other potential trouble areas.
Synthetic Underlayment
Save for the occasional quick morning trip to get your mail with coffee in hand, you wouldn’t usually go commando under a winter coat. A good roof also needs an extra layer to protect the decking from moisture and last through 25+ Chicago winters. Synthetic Underlayment is installed everywhere that Ice & Water Shield is not. If a roofing contractor even attempts to offer you felt underlayment, kindly show him the door.
Shingles
Weatherproof galvanized roofing nails are used to fasten the sheets of shingles to the roof decking. Installers start on the lower edges of the roof and finish on the ridges leaving no exposed edges or fasteners. We’ve installed just about every type of roof imaginable, but the most common shingles you’ll find on a Chicago home today are architectural shingles. About 95% of our homeowners choose Architectural shingles over 3-Tab shingles. If your discerning taste in home design calls for a more premium look, we’d be happy to show you examples and samples Asphalt Designer shingles, Cedar Shake, Imitation Shake & Slate or Clay Tile. Each roofing material is available at a different price point, but all are a beautiful improvement that raises the value of your home and your home’s curb appeal

Clean Up
We make it a habit to clean up our messes, and consistently surprise homeowners with our tidiness when the job is complete. We pick up all scrap materials and even sweep landscaping and lawns with a handheld magnet to pick up loose nails and haul away all of the mess.
We call this a job well done, but yes, you’re allowed to love us just a little bit more!
